Restoring Function and Aesthetics: Full Mouth Rehabilitation

This case involved a comprehensive full mouth rehabilitation for a patient who presented with multiple missing teeth, worn dentition, and decreased vertical dimension. The patient had difficulty chewing and was unhappy with the appearance of their smile.

Assessment & Diagnosis

A thorough examination including digital X-rays, intraoral scans, and photographic analysis revealed extensive wear, missing posterior support, and collapsed bite. The patient was a candidate for full mouth rehabilitation.

Treatment Plan

A phased treatment approach was developed:

• Phase 1: Stabilization — periodontal therapy and endodontic treatment where needed
• Phase 2: Reconstruction — gradual increase of vertical dimension using provisional restorations
• Phase 3: Final restorations — advanced ceramic crowns and bridges

Outcome

By gradually increasing the bite and using advanced ceramic restorations, the patient's smile, chewing ability, and confidence were fully restored. Follow-ups show the results are stable and long-lasting.
