Case Study · Root Canal Treatment
"Severe pain in the lower left molar, especially when chewing."
Tooth Involved: Mandibular left first molar. Clinical examination revealed deep caries involving the pulp. Radiographic examination confirmed periapical pathology with evidence of infection at the root apex.
Root canal treatment was performed. The infected pulp was removed, the root canals were cleaned, disinfected, and obturated. The tooth was then restored with a composite filling followed by a crown to protect it from fracture.
The patient's pain was completely relieved. The tooth was saved from extraction and is functioning normally. Follow-up at 6 months showed complete healing of the periapical tissues.
