Case Study · Endodontics
The patient was facing an issue with lower premolar teeth. Upon examining, we found that the tooth was previously treated (RCT). Now the tooth had developed a re-infection with less bone support.
Failed root canal treatment with persistent apical periodontitis. Radiographic examination revealed inadequate obturation and evidence of periapical pathology.
Re-root canal treatment was performed. The previous filling material was removed, the canals were re-instrumented, thoroughly disinfected with irrigants and intracanal medicament, and re-obturated.
The patient's symptoms resolved completely. The tooth was successfully retained and restored with a crown. Follow-up radiographs showed healing of the periapical area.
